April 25-28, 2019

Nordic Game Jam is a game festival: two days of talks and an unforgettable jam weekend with 500 other game developers from all over the world. Join us in Copenhagen!

“Nordic Game Jam is the best large scale game jam I’ve ever attended.”

 – Petri Purho, Kloonigames

“Nordic Game Jam is of course special because of the high profile international talks, but mostly because you meet so many new people. You can learn from everyone and at the same time teach and help others.”

 – Anders Østergård, Game Swing

“Nordic Game Jam is one of the best places to go for a jam in the world! In the beautiful city of Copenhagen, hundreds of super talented game developers from all around the world gather to create a bunch of games in two days, meet each other, learn from each other and have fun!

 – Sos Sosowski, McPixel

Attending Nordic Game Jam 2018 was one of the absolute highlights of my year – from the amazing people I met to the exciting talks I heard to the electric atmosphere of the jam itself! I highly recommend it to anybody who’s looking for a great jamming experience in 2019 & I hope to be back!

 – Charlene Putney, Larian Studios

Nordic Game Jam and Nordic Game Discovery Contest Season III!

Building on fifteen years of organising successful games industry activities, including the annual Nordic Game conference and exhibition, regional funding programs, overseas networking events and other developer support initiatives, we (Nordic Game) introduced the Nordic Game Discovery Contest (NGDC) in 2016 – an exciting, competitive challenge where selected game projects are showcased live in pitch competitions at partner events across Europe. Now in our third season, we’re introducing a new and unique contest format – instead of just pitching a game the traditional way, contestants compete live onstage in an entertaining round-based battle for points. Submit your game right here: https://goo.gl/forms/3wKEE84iFJtWYZFq2 Deadline is 9 April!

Some games made at Nordic Game Jam

Baba Is You is a puzzle game where the rules you have to follow are presented as blocks you can interact with. By manipulating them, you can change how the game works, repurpose things you find in the levels and cause surprising interactions!

Check out the published game here.

The first version of Baba Is You was made at Nordic Game Jam in 2017. It has since won Excellence In Design and Best Student Game at the IGF.

Oxyjet is a team arena game where two spaceships “sumo-wrestle” for oxygen. Each ship is controlled by two teammates – each with different roles. The hectic gameplay is simple but requires teamwork, quick thinking and tactics to master.

Check out the published game here.

Oxyjet was made at Nordic Game Jam in 2016. It’s coming to Switch!

Stickbold! is a groovy 70’s inspired fantasy game. It can be played as single player or or multiplayer.  The intense and weird arenas and chaotic random event keep the players on their toes each round.

Check out the published game here.

Stickbold! was made at Nordic Game Jam in 2013.
